Our playgroups and Infant, Toddler, Preschool/Pre-K programs are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where children ages 0 to 6 years can grow, explore, and thrive. Founder Lorraine Cronin chose the name "Scalliwags," (a rascalish child) a term of endearment in Ireland, to describe children who are confident, fun, vivacious, and curious. She designed the learning space with family childcare in mind, creating a home-away-from-home feel that still provides the advantages of a center-based program run by experienced professionals. Our team provides exemplary education and care in a nurturing, home-like environment through a fun, creative, emergent/ play-based curriculum, to promote the emotional, cognitive and physical well-being of each child, expertly crafted by the very best team in the childcare industry.

Our Program

The program that Scalliwags Child Care has created is modeled on care and kindness to others. It delivers a developmentally appropriate curriculum through stories, songs, and play to ensure that your child learns, grows, and flourishes in a safe, loving, and inspiring environment. Scalliwags Child Care fosters the innate independence and curiosity within your child to help inspire the confidence they need to build positive and appropriate relationships and explore the world through imaginative and sensory play. Our learning activities include music and movement, yoga, and nature.
